| AL | Advanced Leader | Second level of the Leadership Track. This award requires attaining the CL award, serving as a District officer (Area Governor or higher), Completing HPL and Serving successfully as Club Sponsor, Club Mentor or Club Specialist. |
| ATM | Able ToastMaster | The educational awards above CTM requiring completion of advanced manuals (manuals of speeches concentrating on specific areas of expertise. The three degrees in succession are ATM-b (bronze), ATM-s (Silver) and ATM-g (Gold). |
| C&L | Communications and Leadership manual | "The basic manual." This manual covers the basic skills of public speaking. |
| CL | Competent Leader | First Award of the Leadership track which concentrates on developing leadership skills among members. Requires completion of the CTM, serving as a club Officer and presenting 2 success leadership modules |
| CTM | Competent ToastMaster | An Award bestowed for completing the ten speeches of the basic (C&L) manual. These speeches cover the basic skills of public speaking. This award is a prerequisite for most of the other awards and is the first major goal a new member undertakes. |
| DTM | Distinguished Toastmaster | The highest award a member can receive it culminates both the educational and leadership tracks. |
| GE | General Evaluator | One of the rotating jobs at Toastmasters the General Evaluator assigns individual evaluators and evaluates the meeting as a whole and the evaluations given to speakers. |
| HPL | High Performance Leadership (Program) | A program of advanced leadership. It is a requirement for the AL award but may be completed at any time. It involves performing a project demonstrating leadership. |
| IB | Ice Breaker | The first Speech a new member gives it is an opportunity to introduce the speaker to the club, confront nerves and begin learning to speak to the club. In order to make it as easy as possible the subject is what the speaker knows best: themself. |
| TM | ToastMaster | Refers to either a member, the organization, the club or the rotating position at a meeting for the 'emcee' of the meeting. |
